The textbook I have chosen to read first is "Textbook of Paediatric Emergency Medicine" (edited by Peter Cameron, George Jelinek, Ian Everitt, Gary Browne and Jeremy Raftos). Glancing through the list of contributors I see a few familiar names, some of them doctors I have had the privilege to work with - others whom I have encountered through social media. My plan is to use this part of the blog to capture any pearls or insights that I find interesting as I read through the text. I'm not sure exactly how useful that will be, but I'm hoping it will give my notes some structure. I will refer to this text as ToPEM from now on. I am also reading through "Advanced Paediatric Life Support: The Practical Approach" (edited by Matthew O'Meara and David John Watton). I'll create a separate post with resources that are related to this manual.
